Hybrid System costs
===================

Hybrid system costs are costs that apply to the entire hybrid system. These costs are in addition to subsystem costs defined on the :doc:`Installation costs <../installation-costs/installation_costs>` and :doc:`Operating costs <../operating-costs/operating_costs>` input pages of each subsystem.

Installation Cost
.................

The installation cost of each subsystem is the total installed cost from each subsystem's Installation costs page:

Installation costs apply to Year 0 of the project cash flow.

**Hybrid installation cost, $**
  The hybrid installation cost is for any costs associated with the hybrid system that are not included in the subsystem installation costs.

**Total installed cost, $**
  The sum of the hybrid installation cost and subsystem installed costs. This is treated as the Year 0 installation cost in the project cash flow.

Operation and Maintenance costs

Operation and maintenance costs are annual operating costs that apply once the system starts operating in Year 1 of the project cash flow. Subsystem operating costs are specified on the :doc:`Operating costs <../operating-costs/operating_costs>` page for each subsystem. The hybrid operating costs are for any operating costs associated with the hybrid system that are not included in the subsystem operating costs.

**Hybrid fixed annual cost ($/yr)**
  A fixed annual cost that applies to each year in the project cash flow.

**Hybrid fixed annual cost by capacity ($/kWac-yr)**
  A fixed annual cost proportional to the hybrid system capacity from the :doc:`Hybrid System <hybrid_system>`   page.

**Hybrid variable cost by generation ($/MWhac)**
  A variable annual cost proportional to the hybrid system's total annual electrical output in AC megawatt-hours.
