Export shade data
=================

You can export shade data to use outside of SAM, or to use with SAM later.

.. note:: To save your 3D shading scene and automatically :ref:`apply shade data to SAM <sam>` month-by-hour shading factors, click :doc:`Save and Close <../shade-calculator-reference/sc-save-close>`.

To export diurnal data

#. Click **Analyze**.

#. :doc:`Generate the shade data <sc-generate-data>`.

#. To export data as a CSV file, click **Export** under the hour-by-month table you want to export, and save the file.

#. To copy the data to your computer's clipboard, click Copy to clipboard. (You can paste the data into a spreadsheet or text file.)

To export hourly data

#. Click **Analyze**.

#. Click **Hourly analysis (entire array****)**.
