fuellib.correlate.components.lower_heating_value(fuel)

Calculate component lower heating values from a Hess cycle.

This estimate corresponds to hydrocarbons only; it does not account for heteroatom-containing groups. The result is an engineering estimate related to ASTM D4809/D3338 heating-value characterization, not a simulated bomb-calorimeter test.

Parameters:

fuel (Fuel) – Fuel object.

Returns:

Lower heating values of the components in J/kg.
