fuellib.correlate.mixture.yield_sooting_index(fuel, Yi=None)

Calculate the yield sooting index of the fuel mixture.

Components without a YSI value are excluded and the mole fractions of the remaining components are renormalized to sum to one.

Parameters:

• fuel (Fuel) – Fuel object.

• Yi (Quantity[ndarray[tuple[int]]] | None) – Mass fractions of each compound in the mixture. Defaults to fuel.Y_0 (initial mass fractions).

Returns:

Yield sooting index of the mixture.

Raises:

ValueError – If yield sooting index is unavailable for any component.

Return type:

Quantity[float]
